I Am Unhappy About Being Left Out of Cabinet: MLC Jeevan Reddy
MLC Jeevan Reddy expresses dissatisfaction over ministerial allocation
Says he is the senior-most leader in Congress after V. Hanumantha Rao
Clarifies he won’t quit the party despite disappointment
Senior Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy has openly expressed his displeasure over not being included in the newly formed cabinet of Telangana. Speaking to the media on tuesday, Jeevan Reddy said he felt deeply hurt and sidelined despite his long-standing service to the party.
“I am the most senior leader after V. Hanumantha Rao in the Congress party. Naturally, I had hopes of being included in the cabinet. Yes, I am unhappy,” said Jeevan Reddy, making his discontentment clear. However, he quickly clarified that differences of opinion within a party are natural and that he is not considering switching parties.
“There’s nothing wrong if leaders like Prem Sagar Rao or Rajagopal Reddy aspire for ministerial posts,” he added, stressing that individual ambitions must be balanced with party priorities.
When asked if he would consider defecting to another party out of disappointment, Jeevan Reddy responded sharply, “How can you think I will leave the party I’ve stood by for so many decades? I will never change my party.”
His remarks come amidst increasing discontent among a few senior Congress leaders who were left out of cabinet berths despite the party’s recent electoral success. Political analysts believe the leadership may need to address such concerns soon to avoid internal rifts.
Jeevan Reddy remains a prominent face in the Congress and is respected across party lines for his experience and straightforward approach.
