Minister Seethakka Slams Dharani Portal, Vows Justice for Farmers Through Bhu Bharati Act
Minister Seethakka slams previous government for misusing Dharani to deny rightful land ownership
Emphasizes that land is self-respect for farmers and vows to restore ownership to genuine cultivators
Says records of those who secured pattas illegally will be exposed under Bhu Bharati Act
Minister Seethakka has come down heavily on the previous BRS government, accusing it of exploiting the sacred relationship between farmers and their land through the flawed Dharani portal. Drawing a powerful analogy, she said, “The bond between a farmer and the land is like that between a mother and child,” emphasizing the emotional and economic value land holds for the agrarian community.
She alleged that under the Dharani system, countless farmers lost ownership of their lands, with title deeds being transferred to others despite their continued cultivation. “Land means self-respect. But they have cheated in the name of Dharani,” the Minister said, adding that such betrayal has left many families on the brink of collapse.
To correct this injustice, the state government has introduced the Bhu Bharati Act, a new land reform policy aimed at ensuring land ownership rights are granted only to genuine farmers. Minister Seethakka asserted that this Act is part of the government’s broader mission to bring justice to those wronged by the previous administration’s digital land records system.
She further declared that all illegal beneficiaries who secured pattas through manipulation and influence would soon be exposed. “We will reveal the records of all those who have obtained titles illegally,” she affirmed, promising full transparency and accountability.
Seethakka reiterated that the goal of the current administration is to restore farmers' dignity by ensuring rightful land ownership, free from corruption and manipulation.
