On the occasion of the 43rd foundation day of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), National General Secretary and State Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh addressed party leaders and workers at NTR Bhavan, Mangalagiri. Lokesh highlighted the party's journey of successes and challenges over the past four decades.
Lokesh emphasized the importance of the dedicated cadre who have relentlessly carried forward the party's ideals despite various adversities. Describing the party’s legacy, he remarked, “The formation of the Telugu Desam Party was a sensation, and its first victory was a historic milestone. Whether it's breaking records or rewriting them, TDP has always been at the forefront.”
Praising NTR's welfare schemes and Chandrababu Naidu’s development initiatives, Lokesh stated that TDP has consistently worked towards empowering marginalized communities and promoting social equality. Lokesh recalled landmark schemes such as pucca houses, property rights for women, old-age pensions, and providing political and economic freedom to BCs.
He further stated that TDP played a pivotal role in national politics, contributing to significant reforms like telecom, IT sectors, digital payments, and infrastructure development. Lokesh reiterated his commitment to promoting young leaders and stressed that positions would be given only to those who work hard and serve the people.
Highlighting the success of the Deepam scheme, he noted that one crore cylinders had been distributed free of cost. Lokesh also announced that the P4 program would be launched soon to further strengthen welfare initiatives.
Lokesh concluded by appealing to the party’s young blood to actively participate in leadership roles and promised that the party would continue to work tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
