MLC Duvvada Srinivas threatens AE with dire consequences
Connection restored after full payment of arrears
YCP leader and MLC Duvvada Srinivas has stirred controversy after allegedly threatening an electricity officer for disconnecting his power connection due to unpaid bills. The incident occurred at his house in Akkavaram, Tekkali mandal, Srikakulam district.
According to reports, MLC Duvvada Srinivas accumulated electricity dues of ₹56,692, as the bills for the connection in his name had not been paid for three months. However, payments for another connection in the same house, registered under D. Madhuri, were being cleared regularly.
As the arrears mounted, the electricity staff disconnected the connection on Friday. Furious over the disconnection, Duvvada Srinivas reportedly called Tekkali Electricity Department AE Muralimohan Rao and hurled threats and curses at him. The audio of the conversation has since gone viral on social media.
In the call, the MLC is heard questioning the AE’s authority to cut the connection, issuing threats about dragging him to court, and warning that he would be made to leave Tekkali. Following the heated exchange, the electricity connection was restored after the MLC cleared all pending dues.
The incident has sparked criticism and discussions on social media about the alleged misuse of power by political leaders.
