In a heartfelt tweet, Pawan Kalyan said, “I am deeply shocked to learn about the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh. I pray for his soul to rest in peace.”
Pawan Kalyan hailed Dr. Singh as a visionary economist, distinguished statesman, and a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan. He emphasized Dr. Singh’s pivotal role in reshaping India’s economic trajectory, particularly during his tenure as Finance Minister under Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. Dr. Singh was instrumental in introducing the landmark LPG (Liberalization, Privatization, and Globalization) reforms that laid the foundation for a modern and progressive India.
The Deputy CM acknowledged that the economic reforms spearheaded by P.V. Narasimha Rao and Dr. Singh were crucial in rescuing India from a severe economic crisis. These reforms not only restored economic stability but also propelled India onto the global stage as a rising economic power.
Pawan Kalyan also praised Dr. Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister during the UPA government, highlighting initiatives such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), the Right to Information Act (RTI), and the Right to Education (RTE).
