Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited Kotha Gollapalem village in Parchuru constituency, Bapatla district, to distribute pensions directly to beneficiaries. In his address at a public meeting, the CM spoke about the significant impact of the pension scheme, stating that the pensions being distributed now are the result of the buttons he pressed in the past. He emphasized that the state is spending Rs. 2,722 crores per month, amounting to Rs. 33,100 crores annually, to provide pensions to 64 lakh people across the state.
Chandrababu highlighted the flexibility introduced in the pension system, allowing beneficiaries who missed a month’s payment to catch up. He shared that 93,300 people had not taken pensions for two months, urging officials to ensure smooth distribution. He also noted a monthly surplus of Rs. 76 crores, which is further directed towards supporting the poor.
In his speech, the CM reaffirmed his life’s mission to eliminate poverty. He introduced the Margadarshi Bangaru Kutumbat policy, aimed at providing essential services like solar power, drinking water, drainage, cooking gas, and internet to every household. He stressed the importance of making every village a model village, putting people’s needs first.
Chandrababu reiterated his commitment to rebuilding the state, stating that his government is focused on providing work for every individual and ensuring equitable development across the state.
