Cyclone Arnab reportedly brought severe weather to Andhra Pradesh, with winds reaching 125–150 kmph, damaging roads, uprooting electricity poles and flooding low-lying areas. Although the immediate threat may have weakened, residents must remain cautious while returning to normal life.
People staying in relief shelters should not return home until government officials or disaster management teams declare their areas safe. Never touch fallen electric poles or loose, hanging power cables. Report them immediately to local authorities.
Avoid entering houses with damaged walls, weakened roofs or visible structural cracks. Do not walk or drive through flooded roads or overflowing drains, as hidden hazards and strong currents can cause accidents.
Floodwater may contaminate drinking water supplies. Drink only boiled and cooled or otherwise verified safe water, and eat hygienically prepared food to reduce the risk of infections. Follow official weather updates and emergency instructions. Residents should remain alert until authorities confirm that conditions are safe.
