The ruling NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh has strongly reacted to the YSR Congress Party’s remarks about bringing back its “2.0” style of governance if it returns to power. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan issued a sharp response, warning that the alliance would respond ten times more strongly to any threats.
Speaking at a press conference in Amaravati alongside Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and BJP state president PVN Madhav, Pawan said the alliance had previously faced intimidation and political violence during the YSRCP’s first term in power. He asserted that the government was prepared to handle difficult situations and protect the public.
Pawan also urged elected representatives to speak responsibly, cautioning that repeatedly issuing threats was inappropriate in a democracy.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed strong disapproval of the opposition’s approach. He said the state had suffered considerable damage under what he described as the YSRCP government’s destructive policies, adding that people had not forgotten those experiences.
Naidu warned that the government would not remain silent if anyone attempted to recreate an atmosphere of fear. He said the NDA government was committed to lawful and transparent administration and would not tolerate violations of the law or actions that disturbed public order, regardless of who was involved.
