The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced restrictions on recommendation letters for Lord Venkateswara’s darshan and accommodation due to the Model Code of Conduct for local body elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Under the restrictions, TTD will temporarily stop accepting recommendation letters issued by public representatives and other officials for VIP break darshan and accommodation. However, protocol dignitaries who visit Tirumala in person will continue to receive facilities according to the applicable rules.
The decision is expected to make the darshan process more transparent and reduce the use of recommendation letters for special facilities. TTD has advised devotees not to rely on letters or intermediaries to obtain VIP darshan or rooms. Instead, pilgrims should book darshan tickets and accommodation through official TTD channels.
The restrictions will remain in force until the election Model Code of Conduct is withdrawn. Devotees have been asked to follow the official procedures and cooperate with the temple administration during the election period.
