Seethakka Orders Welfare Reforms

Hyderabad, Jan 17: Minister Seethakka has announced significant reforms in the Panchayat Raj and Welfare Departments, including the release of salary arrears for multi-purpose workers and the implementation of an online employment issue resolution system across all departments.
In a review meeting at the Telangana Secretariat on Thursday, she emphasized the importance of ensuring proper nutrition for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children. She directed district welfare officers to undergo training to enhance service delivery in this regard.
Minister Seethakka urged officials to adhere to regulations, work without fear, and uphold public trust. She stressed the importance of accurate reporting, cautioning against concealing facts for political approval. She also highlighted the necessity of cooperation among officials, warning that errors could lead to legal consequences. She encouraged consultation with subordinates to resolve issues effectively.
Announcing financial measures, she stated that pending bills in the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department are being cleared, with NREGA payments amounting to ₹300 crore recently released.
As part of governance reforms, Minister Seethakka directed the introduction of an online system to address employment issues across all departments. She also introduced a feedback mechanism where parents can share their opinions on Anganwadi services through a monthly phone-in program. She warned that action would be taken against negligent staff based on public feedback.
To improve facilities at Anganwadi centers, she suggested installing benches for the convenience of pregnant women. Additionally, she announced an allocation of ₹50 crore for providing equipment to disabled individuals, marking a first in Telangana’s history. A distribution drive will be conducted in every constituency to ensure accessibility.
