Hyderabad, Jan 17: Former Minister and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has made key remarks ahead of his Enforcement Directorate (ED) inquiry today regarding the Formula E Car Race case. KTR is scheduled to appear before the ED at 10:30 AM for questioning. In a post on social media platform X, he defended his role in bringing the prestigious event to Hyderabad and criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s handling of the issue.
KTR stated that introducing Formula E to Telangana and placing Hyderabad on the global map was one of his significant achievements as a minister. He recalled that the event garnered international recognition, with racers and industry leaders from the e-mobility sector praising Hyderabad. He emphasized that no amount of political harassment, false cases, or mudslinging could diminish the success of this event. He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Brand Hyderabad, whether he holds a ministerial position or not.
Addressing allegations of financial irregularities, KTR asserted that the Rs 46 crore allocated by the state government for the event was transferred transparently. He emphasized that all transactions were properly documented, leaving no room for corruption or money laundering. He questioned the basis of the accusations, insisting that every rupee spent was accounted for.
KTR also criticized the Congress-led state government for canceling the Formula E race, arguing that it led to financial losses for the state. He accused CM Revanth Reddy of using the issue for political vendetta through court cases and investigations despite the absence of any wrongdoing.
He expressed confidence that the truth would prevail and that both the public and the judiciary would soon recognize the reality of the situation. KTR vowed to continue his fight for justice, stating that he would not be intimidated by politically motivated actions.
As the ED inquiry unfolds, KTR’s statements set the stage for a heated political battle between the BRS and Congress in Telangana.
