Guntur, Jan 17

Former Minister Ambati Rambabu issued a stern warning to Guntur Municipal Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu, accusing him of arrogance and disrespect towards the Guntur Municipal Corporation leadership. The remarks were made during an emergency meeting of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders in Guntur on Thursday, attended by Mayor Kavati Manohar Naidu, Deputy Mayor Diamond Babu, YSRCP District President Ambati Rambabu, and MLC Lella Appireddy.

Addressing the media, Rambabu asserted that the mayor is the supreme authority in the Guntur Municipal Corporation and accused the commissioner of overstepping his limits. "The Guntur Mayor will remain in power for another 14 months, and only the ruling and opposition members have the right to walk out of the council," he stated.

Rambabu alleged that the commissioner’s behavior was arrogant and unlawful, emphasizing that the YSRCP has taken the issue seriously. He called for the commissioner to adhere to the law and respect public representatives. Rambabu hinted at broader consequences, warning that the YSRCP will launch a state-wide public struggle to condemn the commissioner’s behavior.

In a direct warning, Rambabu claimed that Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu, who is set to retire in three years, will face challenges due to his alleged actions. "Wherever Puli Srinivasulu is, we will unearth his loot and expose it to the public," he declared, suggesting that the commissioner’s track record would be scrutinized and made public.

The comments come amidst growing tensions between YSRCP leaders and the municipal administration over the conduct of council meetings and alleged breaches of protocol. With the YSRCP preparing to escalate the issue, the situation in the Guntur Municipal Corporation remains highly charged.
