Andhra Pradesh, Jan 18: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed his delight over the central government’s official announcement of a ₹11,440 crore stimulus package for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, calling it a historic move that marks the beginning of brighter days for the people of the state.
Naidu hailed the decision, stating that it was a moment of pride for Andhra Pradesh. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his positive response towards the future of the steel plant and extended special gratitude to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Steel Minister Krishnaswamy Kumaraswamy for their pivotal roles in securing the package.
The Chief Minister highlighted the deep emotional connection the people of Andhra Pradesh have with the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, emphasizing, “Visakha Ukku (steel) is not just an industry; it is an emotional issue for the people of Andhra Pradesh.” He reinforced that the plant symbolizes the rights and aspirations of the state's people, making it an integral part of the state's identity.
Chandrababu Naidu expressed his optimism regarding the state’s future, considering this package a recognition of the sentiments of the Andhra populace. With this development, he expressed hope for greater progress and prosperity in Andhra Pradesh.
All Credit Goes to PM Modi: Nara Lokesh
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing a special ₹11,440 crore package for the revival of the Vizag Steel Plant. He praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for fulfilling his electoral promise to support the steel plant, which was on the brink of closure. Lokesh emphasized that all the credit for the plant's revival goes to PM Modi.
He highlighted the significant role the plant will play in the development of both Vikasit Bharat and Vikasit Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh noted that the revival will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities for lakhs of people. He also expressed thanks to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Steel Minister Kumaraswamy for their contributions. Lokesh concluded that with the steel plant’s revival, Andhra Pradesh will soar to new heights, transforming the lives of thousands.
