Andhra Pradesh, Jan 18:
In Andhra Pradesh, liquor sales soared to approximately Rs. 400 crore during the three days of the Sankranthi festival. According to excise sources, around Rs. 150 crore worth of liquor was sold each on Sankranthi and Kanuma days. This is a significant increase compared to the daily sales of Rs. 80 crore on regular days.

During the period from January 10th to 15th, a total of 6.99 lakh cases of liquor and 2.29 lakh cases of beer were sold. The sales figures during this festival period have reportedly reached levels never seen before during Sankranthi. The surge in consumption reflects the festival's celebratory mood and the high demand for alcoholic beverages.
