Producer Naga Vamsi has expressed his deep anger over the negative reviews of his movie, Mad Square, questioning whether critics know as much about the film as the audience does. In a strongly worded press conference held on Tuesday, Vamsi responded to the criticism that the movie lacked content, stating that the audience had given positive feedback while reviewers were focusing on flaws.
Vamsi pointed out that films like Mad Square are not on the same scale as blockbusters like Baahubali or Pushpa 2, emphasizing that it doesn't rely on big stars or high-budget spectacle. He particularly criticized media outlets for highlighting negative reviews and urged journalists to support the movie.
He expressed his frustration with film critics, stating, “Your websites and channels run only because of movies like mine. We are keeping your channels alive with our films and advertisements. If you don’t want to support, then don’t destroy the movie.”
As a direct response to the ongoing criticism, Vamsi also announced a reduction in ticket prices for Mad Square, signaling his commitment to making the film accessible to a wider audience.
Vamsi’s comments reflect the growing tension between filmmakers and critics, with producers increasingly vocal about how reviews can influence the success of their films. His statement is a call for media to understand the importance of supporting the industry and not just focusing on content analysis
