HC Dismisses Cases Against CM Revanth Reddy and KTR
Case against Revanth Reddy in Narsingi dismissed
KTR gets relief in Saifabad police station case
Court rules that cases were registered on weak grounds
The Telangana High Court has provided major relief to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) by dismissing the cases filed against them.
A case was registered against Revanth Reddy in March 2020 for allegedly flying a drone in Janwada, following which the Narsingi police sent him to remand. Revanth had filed a petition to quash the FIR, arguing that Janwada was not a restricted area and that the case was filed under incorrect sections. After reviewing the arguments, the High Court ruled in his favor and dismissed the case.
Similarly, the court also dismissed the case against KTR, which was registered at the Saifabad police station following allegations that he had made derogatory remarks against CM Revanth Reddy. The police had filed the case based on a complaint by MP Anil Kumar Yadav. While the prosecution argued that KTR’s comments were defamatory, his lawyer countered that the case was politically motivated. After hearing both sides, the High Court ruled in KTR’s favor and quashed the case.
These developments come as a huge relief for both political leaders, clearing them of legal troubles ahead of crucial political proceedings in the state.
