The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (AP JAC) Amaravati has temporarily suspended its agitation following assurances from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on employees’ demands. The decision was taken at a state-level executive meeting and women’s wing meeting held at Revenue Bhavan in Vijayawada under the chairmanship of Bopparaju Venkateswarlu.
The JAC welcomed the appointment of a PRC commissioner, release of two pending DAs, restoration of additional pension for retirees, sanction of surrender leaves and continuation of employees’ health cards.
However, leaders expressed concern over the lack of clarity on interim relief, arrears, increments for village and ward secretariat staff, and issues concerning outsourced employees. They said the agitation was being postponed in view of the CM’s assurance that interim relief would be announced soon.
The JAC sought a roadmap for arrears and completion of the PRC report within six months.
