Former Pakistani Minister Fawad Hussain responds amid fears of Indian retaliation

Fawad Hussain tweets that Pakistan will unite against any external threat despite internal political differences

Fears rise in Pakistan over potential Indian surgical strikes following the Pahalgam terror attack

Hussain urges restraint from Indian leadership, warns against war escalation fueled by media narratives

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, former Pakistani minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain issued a series of statements on social media platform ‘X’, calling for national unity and cautioning against escalation.

Hussain’s remarks come at a time when fears are mounting in Pakistan over the possibility of another Indian surgical strike. The concerns were triggered after the Pahalgam attack, where 26 tourists were killed. India has blamed the incident on The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The attackers, identified as Pakistani nationals Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha, remain at large.

In response, Indian security agencies released sketches of the suspects and heightened military preparedness. While Pakistan has denied any involvement in the attack and has deployed additional forces along the border, uncertainty prevails in the region.

Chaudhry Fawad, addressing the situation, tweeted: “If India threatens or attacks, we will set aside all political differences and stand united under the Pakistani flag to defend our homeland.” He emphasized that national security must take precedence over internal divisions.

In a follow-up post, Hussain appealed to the Indian government for restraint, stating, “I hope the Modi government does not endanger millions of lives by reacting to media-driven war hysteria. Wisdom and peace must prevail.”

The situation remains tense as both sides maintain heightened vigilance. While India is yet to officially announce any retaliatory action, diplomatic and military channels are closely monitoring the developments.
