APCC chief YS Sharmila has shared an emotional message on social media regarding the Yelahanka Palace property dispute in Bengaluru. The issue has drawn attention amid differences between Sharmila and her brother, YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, over family property.
In her post on X, Sharmila clarified that the palace, which was earlier part of the family’s joint assets, was allotted entirely to her and her children during the property division after Jagan became Chief Minister. She said she had wished to conduct her daughter Anjali Reddy’s wedding at the house where her father, former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, had spent time.
Sharmila expressed sadness over being unable to fulfil her daughter’s wish. She said it was her responsibility as a mother to ensure that Anjali’s marriage with Somala Raghuram Reddy takes place peacefully, without disputes or unnecessary controversy. Therefore, the family decided to shift the wedding from Yelahanka Palace to another venue and celebrate it in the presence of relatives and friends. She also sought people’s blessings for the couple.
