CPI Narayana Fires Back at YS Jagan Over Police Remarks
Asks if Jagan wants to strip police just to watch them
Alleges police acted like peons to Jagan when he was CM
Condemns misuse of police force to arrest ex-CM without proof
CPI National Secretary K. Narayana launched a scathing counter to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent remarks on the police force. Expressing strong disapproval, Narayana questioned Jagan’s intentions and slammed his history of misusing the police while in power.
“What exactly does Jagan want to see by stripping the police of their clothes? What will he do by stripping their clothes?” Narayana asked in a tone laced with sarcasm. He alleged that during Jagan's tenure as Chief Minister, police officers were reduced to the level of "peons," acting on his personal instructions rather than following the law.
Narayana also recalled how a former Chief Minister was arrested without any solid evidence, accusing Jagan of using the police force for political vendetta. He urged police officers not to bend to the whims of politicians, stressing that fear of transfers or political pressure should never override duty and constitutional responsibility.
He called Jagan’s comments unacceptable and deeply insulting to the police force, emphasizing that such statements could damage morale and undermine the integrity of law enforcement agencies.
CPI has strongly condemned YS Jagan's remarks, asserting that the police deserve respect for their service and should not be used as tools for personal or political gain.
