CM Naidu Emphasizes District Development, Senior Officials to Tour Villages

First-ever state-level discussion on district development plans

CM highlights tourism’s role in economic growth

Senior officials to tour villages for real-time problem-solving

On the second day of the third District Collectors’ meeting at the State Secretariat, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu underscored the importance of structured district development. He stated that for the first time in Andhra Pradesh’s history, district development plans are being discussed at the state level.

Reflecting on his vision from 30 years ago, CM Naidu recalled how he had advocated for tourism as a key driver of economic growth, despite opposition at the time. He pointed out that even in the recent Telangana budget session, CPI members acknowledged the significance of tourism, reinforcing the foresight of his past statements.

Highlighting a zonal development approach, CM Naidu identified five power hubs—Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Amaravati, Tirupati, and Anantapur—urging district collectors to align their development plans accordingly. He stressed that each zone has a senior officer and an in-charge minister to coordinate and drive progress.

In a significant move, CM Naidu announced that from next month, senior officials will spend three to four days in villages to assess ground realities and formulate action plans based on real-time issues. This initiative aims to ensure effective governance and rapid problem resolution at the grassroots level.
