Amaravati: The Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) election results across Andhra Pradesh have generated considerable political excitement, with several unexpected outcomes, closely fought contests and dramatic developments during vote counting. From victories decided by a single vote to major electoral setbacks for established political strongholds, the results have attracted widespread attention across the state. Recounting demands, allegations of irregularities and confrontations between party workers and police further added to the tension in several areas.

One of the major highlights emerged from Nallacheruvu in Sri Sathya Sai district, where Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate Paritala Sriram secured a significant victory in the ZPTC election. His win triggered celebrations among Paritala supporters and TDP cadres across the constituency. Party workers celebrated the result by bursting firecrackers and distributing sweets, reflecting their enthusiasm over the electoral victory.

Another major political development was reported from Pulivendula in YSR district, widely regarded as a stronghold of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). In a significant setback for the party, the TDP candidate secured a remarkable victory in the Pulivendula ZPTC constituency with a majority of 1,463 votes. The outcome has become one of the most discussed results of the parishad elections, given the constituency’s political significance and its association with former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

TDP Candidate Wins by Just One Vote in Mallipudi

The most thrilling contest of the elections unfolded in Mallipudi village of Penumantra mandal in West Godavari district. TDP candidate Kolli Aruna Kumari emerged victorious by a razor-thin margin of just one vote. The result created considerable suspense among political workers and supporters.

Unconvinced by the initial counting outcome, YSRCP supporters demanded a recount, raising doubts over the result. Election officials subsequently conducted another round of counting. However, even after the recount, Aruna Kumari retained her one-vote advantage, officially confirming her victory. The result once again highlighted how even a single vote can determine the outcome of an electoral contest.

Husband and Wife Secure Double Victory in Prathipadu

Kakinada district’s Prathipadu witnessed a notable electoral achievement, with a husband-and-wife duo winning two MPTC seats. Yalla Jagadish contested from Prathipadu-2 and secured victory with a majority of 1,336 votes. His wife, Yalla Mangadevi, also emerged victorious from Prathipadu-3 with a majority of 1,138 votes.

Their simultaneous victories became a major talking point in the constituency, with the family celebrating a double electoral success. The results demonstrated the strong electoral support received by the couple in their respective constituencies.

    Gannavaram Result Triggers Recounting Demand

In Krishna district, the Gannavaram ZPTC election also witnessed considerable tension. YSRCP candidate Anagani Ravi, considered a close associate of Vallabhaneni Vamsi, secured victory by a margin of 137 votes.

However, alliance leaders expressed doubts over the counting process and insisted on a recount. Their demands created tension at the counting centre, prompting officials to close the doors in an attempt to prevent further disturbances. The developments attracted attention amid the politically charged atmosphere surrounding the election results.

Protests and Clashes in Railway Kodur

Tensions were also reported in Railway Kodur of Tirupati district, where YSRCP leaders and supporters staged protests alleging irregularities in the election process. The protest was led by former MLA Koramutla Srinivasulu.

The situation reportedly escalated into a confrontation between party workers and police personnel, with pushing and shoving taking place. The incident added another layer of controversy to the parishad election results, with political leaders raising concerns over the counting process.

Mixed Results for the Botsa Family in Vizianagaram

The election results in Vizianagaram district brought mixed fortunes for the family of senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana. While some family members recorded favourable results, others faced electoral setbacks.

In Terlam, Majji Siri Sahasra, daughter of Botsa Chinna Sreenu, was reported to be leading. In Garividi, his daughter-in-law Poojitha also maintained an advantage. However, in Bondapalli, his daughter Anusha suffered defeat.

The contrasting outcomes within the same political family became another interesting feature of the election results, highlighting the unpredictable nature of local electoral contests.

Independent Candidate Scores Surprise Victory in Krishnagiri

One of the biggest surprises came from Krishnagiri in the erstwhile Kurnool district. Independent candidate Sriramulu emerged victorious in the ZPTC election after taking on candidates backed by major political parties.

His unexpected victory surprised political observers and party leaders alike. At a time when major parties were engaged in intense electoral battles across the state, Sriramulu’s success demonstrated that independent candidates could also make a significant impact in local body elections.

Parishad Results Reshape Local Political Equations

Overall, the ZPTC and MPTC election results have delivered several important political messages across Andhra Pradesh. While the TDP celebrated significant victories in constituencies such as Nallacheruvu and Pulivendula, closely contested battles in Mallipudi and Gannavaram kept the political atmosphere tense. The double victory in Prathipadu, mixed results for the Botsa family and the surprise win by an independent candidate in Krishnagiri added further significance to the results.

With victories decided by narrow margins, demands for recounting and protests over alleged irregularities, the parishad elections have once again demonstrated the intensity of grassroots politics in Andhra Pradesh. The outcomes are expected to influence local political equations and strengthen discussions among major parties about their performance and organisational strength across the state.
