AP Local Body Elections 2026 counting is nearing its final stage across Andhra Pradesh, with the latest trends indicating a strong performance by the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance. Counting has been largely peaceful across the state, although minor clashes have been reported in a few places. As round-wise results continue to emerge, alliance candidates are securing victories and maintaining leads in several municipal bodies.

    Alliance Leads in Municipal Corporations

The performance of the alliance is particularly visible in the municipal corporations. Andhra Pradesh has a total of 13 municipal corporations, and counting has reached the final stages in 10 of them. According to the trends available at the time of reporting, alliance candidates are leading in all 10 corporations where counting is underway.

The latest figures indicate that the alliance has maintained an advantage in the urban local body contests. The YSRCP and other candidates have not established comparable leads in these 10 corporations, according to the available trends. Final results, however, will depend on the completion of counting and the official declarations by election authorities.

    TDP-Jana Sena-BJP Alliance Leads in 64 Municipalities

The municipal election trends also point towards a strong showing by the ruling alliance. Andhra Pradesh has 87 municipalities, and round-wise trends have become clear in 71 of them.

The TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance has already secured victories in 20 municipalities. In addition, its candidates are leading in another 44 municipalities. This means the alliance has either won or is currently ahead in a total of 64 municipalities among the 71 where trends are available.

These figures suggest that the alliance has performed strongly in several parts of the state. However, leads should not be treated as confirmed victories until the final results are officially announced.

    YSRCP Wins Five Municipalities

The YSRCP has secured victories in five municipalities, according to the figures available at the time of reporting. Meanwhile, independent candidates and other parties are leading in three municipalities.

The results indicate a challenging election for the YSRCP in several municipal areas. The party’s performance in these local body elections is being closely watched, particularly because the contests provide an indication of political support at the grassroots level.

For the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP, the results are significant as the three parties contested as an alliance. Coordination among alliance candidates and local-level campaigning have been key features of the election campaign.

    Celebrations Begin at Counting Centres

As favourable results and leads emerged, TDP, Jana Sena and BJP supporters began celebrations at several counting centres. Party workers and local leaders have been closely following the round-wise updates, with celebrations taking place in areas where alliance candidates secured victories.

The counting process has witnessed a few minor incidents in isolated locations, but the overall atmosphere has remained peaceful, according to the available information. Election officials are continuing the process of completing the remaining rounds and declaring results.

    Final Results Awaited

The AP Local Body Elections have produced significant trends in favour of the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance so far. The alliance has won 20 municipalities and is leading in 44 more, while its candidates are also ahead in all 10 municipal corporations where counting is in the final stages.

The YSRCP has won five municipalities, while independents and other candidates are leading in three. These numbers provide a picture of the election situation at the time of reporting, but the final outcome will become clear only after the remaining counting rounds are completed and the authorities officially declare the results.

The AP Local Body Elections results are expected to remain a major topic of political discussion as parties assess their performance and prepare for future local-level contests.
