Bollywood actress Radhika Apte’s recent remarks about the South Indian film industry, particularly Tollywood, have triggered a debate among film personalities and audiences. During an interview, Radhika reportedly commented that actresses in Telugu cinema do not receive enough importance and are often limited to glamour roles.
Her remarks drew criticism from several industry members. Producer SKN was among those who reacted, and now RX 100 actress Payal Rajput has also responded strongly.Payal stated that the Telugu film industry had given her fame, recognition and a sense of security.
She said Tollywood treats artists with respect and follows professional discipline. According to her, making negative comments about an industry that provided opportunities and helped establish her career was not appropriate.Payal further remarked that criticising the industry after gaining recognition through it should not be considered courage.
She expressed pride in identifying herself as a Telugu actress and thanked Tollywood for supporting her during difficult phases of her career. She also assured that she would continue to stand by the Telugu film industry. Her response has attracted appreciation from several Telugu cinema fans on social media.
