Political tensions have intensified in Pulivendula, Kadapa district, as local body election nominations get underway. Police have stepped up security measures to prevent clashes and maintain law and order during the nomination process.
As part of these measures, the Pulivendula Urban Circle Inspector reportedly visited the residence of Kadapa YSRCP MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and served him an official notice. The notice stated that BNSS Section 163 and Police Act Section 30 were being enforced in the town. Police warned that unauthorised rallies, public meetings and gatherings exceeding the permitted limits would invite action.
However, YSRCP leaders have objected to the restrictions, alleging that they are intended to intimidate party candidates and prevent them from filing nominations freely. They also accused the ruling coalition of using the police system to pressure the opposition. Local police and CRPF personnel have reportedly been deployed to prevent any escalation. These allegations have not been independently verified.
