Postal ballot voting for Andhra Pradesh’s local body elections began peacefully and will continue for two days, on October 29 and 30. The facility allows eligible voters who cannot vote at polling stations on election day, including government employees on election duty and essential services personnel, to exercise their voting rights.
Voting is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. To ensure transparency and smooth conduct, one Returning Officer (RO) and two assistants have been appointed for each ward. Ballot boxes were sealed and prepared in the presence of agents representing contesting candidates.
After voting concludes, the ballot boxes will be shifted to strong rooms under police security. On counting day, postal ballots will be counted before the regular votes. The process is intended to help eligible voters participate in the elections while maintaining transparency and following election rules.
