A total of 1488 nomination sets were filed by 893 candidates for the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana, signaling an intense competition ahead of the upcoming polls on May 13. The highest number of 177 nominations was received from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat, followed closely by Nalgonda and Bhongir, each with 114 nominations. Peddapalli and Karimnagar also saw significant participation with 109 and 94 nominations, respectively. The final day of nominations on April 25 saw a surge, with 632 nominations filed, mostly by independent candidates. Conversely, Nagarkurnool constituency had the lowest number of nominations at 53. With a diverse array of candidates, the upcoming elections promise to be fiercely contested in several constituencies across Telangana.
