Senior actress Khushbu Sundar has shared interesting details about her film career and friendships with actors from the 1980s in a recent interview. She also explained why she missed opportunities to work alongside Telugu superstars Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. Khushbu made her Telugu debut as a heroine opposite Venkatesh in the 1986 film Kaliyuga Pandavulu.
Speaking about the bond among actors of her generation, Khushbu said that 36 members are part of a WhatsApp group called ‘Class of 80s’. The group includes prominent actors such as Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff. She said they regularly interact and enjoy themselves like children whenever they meet.
Khushbu explained that by 1988, she was receiving several offers from the Tamil film industry and became busy with projects there. Around the same time, the film industry began shifting from Chennai to Hyderabad. However, she preferred to remain in Chennai, which meant turning down several Telugu film opportunities.
She also revealed that she was initially approached for the lead role in the Telugu blockbuster Chanti. However, she had already committed dates to films featuring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, forcing her to miss the opportunity.
