Govt-Industry Collaboration Discussed
TPN , Hyderabad : Several prominent figures from the film industry met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss the future of cinema in the state. The meeting saw luminaries share suggestions to enhance Hyderabad's global appeal as a filmmaking hub and addressed pressing industry concerns. Veteran filmmaker Raghavendra Rao highlighted the need for an International Film Festival in Hyderabad, citing the city’s legacy of hosting children’s film festivals in the past. "All CMs have supported the film industry, and this government is no exception. We also welcome Dil Raju's appointment as FDC Chairman," he said. Producer Suresh Babu expressed faith in the government, emphasizing Hyderabad's potential to become an international film destination. "With the support of previous governments, the film industry thrived here. If supported further, we can make Hyderabad a global film hub," he added. Actor and producer Nagarjuna urged the government to provide capital incentives, suggesting that such measures could elevate the industry to a global level. "The studio setup here should meet universal standards, making Hyderabad the world cinema capital," he proposed. DGP Jitender addressed law and order issues, stating the importance of ensuring public safety during film screenings. He assured action against uncooperative bouncers while acknowledging their positive role in many cases. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stressed the need for non-political collaboration with the industry. "Ours is a people’s government. The film industry should partner with us to achieve mutual growth," he remarked. Veterans like Shyam Prasad Reddy and Murali Mohan voiced concerns over industry challenges, including the competitive nature of film releases and the need for government recognition. The meeting underscored the government’s intent to support the industry while ensuring accountability and safety for the public.
