The cadre allocation dispute involving senior IAS officer Amrapali has attracted renewed attention after the Telangana High Court completed its hearing on her petition. The court heard arguments from both sides and reserved its verdict. The decision is expected to clarify her future cadre allocation and posting.
During the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Central Government allocated Amrapali to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Challenging this decision, she approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), which issued orders in favour of her allocation to the Telangana cadre. However, the Telangana High Court had earlier stayed the tribunal’s orders.
During the latest hearing, lawyers representing both sides presented their arguments regarding the cadre allocation and applicable service rules. The High Court has not yet announced its final decision.
The upcoming verdict will determine the legal position regarding her cadre allocation. Until the judgment is delivered, uncertainty continues over whether Amrapali will serve in Andhra Pradesh or remain in Telangana. Further clarity on her future posting is expected after the court announces its decision.
