A significant development has emerged in the alleged disproportionate assets cases involving YSR Congress Party chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to reports, the concerned CBI special court has decided to conduct day-to-day hearings in the long-pending cases registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).More than 70 other accused persons are also reportedly involved in these cases. Around nine ED chargesheets, along with related CBI cases, have remained pending in courts for several years. Delays in deciding discharge petitions filed by the accused have reportedly affected the progress of the proceedings.Seeking an early conclusion to the cases, the ED, former minister Hari Ramajogaiah and others approached the Telangana High Court. Following these developments, the special court is reportedly preparing to expedite the hearings. The move has drawn considerable attention in Andhra Pradesh’s political circles, given the prominence of the cases and their long legal history.
