TPN , Andhra Pradesh : Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirumala Laddu, a topic of discussion nationwide. He dismissed claims that animal fat is present in the ghee used for making the laddus, calling it a myth. Jagan emphasized that the laddus are prepared in Tirumala using traditional methods that have been in place for decades.
In his statement, he criticized Chandrababu Naidu for exploiting religious sentiments for political gain, questioning whether it is ethical to manipulate the feelings of devotees. He pointed out that tenders for ghee supply are called every six months, and samples were collected during Chandrababu’s tenure as Chief Minister. Jagan found it ironic that Naidu is speaking out now when reports came in on July 23.
He asserted that the procurement of laddu-making equipment is proceeding as usual and that there have been no changes in the testing procedures for ghee quality. Jagan expressed his outrage, stating it is morally unacceptable for a Chief Minister to spread lies.
Jagan questioned why Chandrababu has not publicly addressed the issue if ghee samples were sent to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) on July 17 but rejected on July 23. He explained that every tanker delivering ghee must obtain a certificate, and each sample undergoes three tests.
He accused Naidu of damaging the sanctity of Tirumala by spreading misinformation and stated that such actions belittle the revered site. Jagan announced plans to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court regarding the laddu controversy, suggesting that this issue is a diversion from the coalition government’s performance in its first 100 days.
Criticism of the Coalition Government’s 100-Day Rule
In addition to the laddu controversy, Jagan criticized the 100-day rule of the coalition government led by Chandrababu, calling it a fraud. He stated, “No Super Six… No Seven. All systems are in decline. Goru Mudda has been disregarded. Arogyashri bills are pending, and accommodation and education benefits have yet to be delivered. Employees of 108 and 104 have not received their salaries.”
Jagan accused Chandrababu of engaging in diversionary politics, claiming that despite warnings about potential floods, no reviews or preparations have been made.
As the political discourse intensifies, the issues raised by Jagan highlight significant concerns about governance and the manipulation of religious sentiments in the state.
