TPN,Andhra Pradesh: Velampalli Srinivasa Rao, the Central Constituency Vice CP candidate, embarked on a campaign tour through the 61st division, covering Payakapuram, Prashanthi Nagar, and other localities. Accompanied by local division corporator Samman Ramadevi, Venkatarao, and others, he sought votes door-to-door. Rao highlighted the historical trend wherein welfare schemes were selectively distributed only to supporters of the Telugu Desam party.
He pointed out instances where Varla Ramaiah and Buddha Venkanna in the western constituency followed similar practices. Rao criticized Chandrababu for questioning CM Jagan’s credibility regarding schemes, citing Chandrababu’s own track record of not fulfilling promises during his 14-year tenure as Chief Minister. He also accused Chandrababu of holding the party hostage through figures like Purandeshwari.
Rao alleged that people are inclined to support Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan without considering their policies thoroughly. Additionally, he questioned Chandrababu’s contribution to the welfare of the poor and raised concerns about the surge in liquor consumption, attributing it to Chandrababu’s governance.
The campaign garnered participation from senior leaders, corporators, party activists, and supporters from various divisions within the 61st division.
