Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy announced a ₹500 bonus for Sanna farmers during the Kharif season, emphasizing the government’s commitment to purchasing all harvested grain. During a review meeting with officials, he reiterated that millers must not buy grain from bordering states, warning of strict action against those who do.
Reddy revealed that 7,139 grain purchase centers will be established to facilitate the procurement process, with separate centers for Sannalu and Doddu Vad varieties. He noted that approximately 60.39 lakh acres of paddy have been cultivated this season, with an expected yield of 146.28 lakh metric tonnes of grain. The government’s proactive measures aim to support local farmers and ensure a smooth procurement process during the Kharif season.
