Telangana Leading the Way in Job Creation, Says CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, January 5 — Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday asserted that the state has become a national model in job creation, highlighting the significant strides his government has made in addressing unemployment.

In his remarks, the Chief Minister stated that the Congress government, in its first year, had successfully filled 55,143 vacancies across various government departments, calling this achievement "unprecedented" in the country. He was speaking at an event where cheques were distributed to Civil Services aspirants under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayahastam scheme. Twenty successful candidates, who had qualified for the Civil Services Mains exams, received Rs 1 lakh each as financial assistance.

Reddy recalled that the primary goal behind the creation of Telangana was to fulfill the aspirations of the youth, particularly their desire for employment. He lamented that despite the formation of the state, unemployment continued to be a significant issue for the last decade, with young people struggling due to a lack of job opportunities.

The Chief Minister also touched upon the progress made in recruitment exams, specifically mentioning the Group 1 exams. He pointed out that the People's Government had overcome numerous challenges and conspiracies to conduct these exams, which had been pending for 14 years, to fill 563 posts. Recruitment for Group 1 positions is expected to be completed by March 31.

"The People's Government assumed power in a very challenging environment. Our primary goal is to ensure that a larger number of candidates from Telangana get selected in Civil Services exams," Reddy said.

Drawing inspiration from Bihar, which has seen a significant rise in the number of students excelling in civil services, Reddy expressed his commitment to providing similar support in Telangana. He highlighted that Bihar’s success in civil services was a result of the state's special focus on nurturing candidates from economically backward regions, and emphasized that Telangana was following a similar model.

In line with this, the Telangana government is offering Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to Civil Services aspirants through the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayahastam scheme to help them in their preparations. Reddy described this financial support as a gesture of encouragement from the government and urged the candidates to view it as a stepping stone towards their success.

Addressing the students directly, the Chief Minister encouraged them to stay committed to their goals, assuring them that hard work would yield the desired results. "Those who work hard with dedication will undoubtedly be rewarded," he said, expressing his hopes that all recipients of the financial aid under the scheme would progress to the interview stage and ultimately secure positions in the civil services.

Reddy also reiterated that the welfare of the youth remains a top priority for his government. He emphasized that the government is taking proactive steps to ensure timely recruitment in line with the job calendar, with a particular focus on civil services.

"We aim to reach a stage where Telangana can proudly claim to have the highest number of candidates selected for civil services in the country," Reddy concluded, underlining his administration’s commitment to the youth and their future success.
