Telangana HC Rejects KTR's Request for Lawyer to Sit with Him in Formula E Case

In a setback for Telangana Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Hyderabad High Court has denied his request to have his lawyer accompany him during the ongoing Formula E Car Race case investigation. KTR had filed a petition to quash the case, which was rejected by the court. Following this, his lawyers had refused to attend the ACB inquiry with him, prompting KTR to approach the court again.

The court ruled that KTR could not sit with his lawyer during the investigation. It instructed KTR to provide the names of three lawyers who would be allowed to stay at a distance during the ACB proceedings. The court referenced a similar ruling in the case of Avinash Reddy in the Y.S. Viveka murder case, where the CBI did not allow a lawyer to sit alongside the accused during interrogation.
