Minister Ponnam Announces 3,000 RTC Recruitment, Flags Off 50 Electric Buses in Waranga

In a significant announcement, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar declared that 3,000 new recruitments would be made in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). The minister made this statement during the inauguration of 50 electric buses at the Hayagriva Ground in Hanumakonda, Warangal. The state government has allocated a total of 112 electric buses for the Warangal region, with the first batch of 50 buses flagged off today by Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Konda Surekha.

The electric buses are part of the state government's initiative to promote eco-friendly transport solutions. Additionally, the minister confirmed that 25 more buses will be launched before the Sankranti festival, with the remaining buses set to hit the roads soon thereafter.

While addressing the event, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar took the opportunity to highlight several achievements. He pointed out that within just 48 hours of assuming office, the state government initiated free bus travel for women, benefiting over 125 crore women to date. He also shared that women have enjoyed free travel worth an estimated ₹4350 crore, showcasing the government's commitment to women's welfare.

The minister further lauded the significant improvements in the RTC's occupancy rates, attributing this growth to the hard work and dedication of RTC employees. He recalled the efforts of RTC workers in the 'Bus Ka Paye Nayi Cheliy' movement, highlighting their contributions towards the development of Telangana. Ponnam also reminded the audience of the 2013 bond issuance to RTC employees and the 21% PRC granted to them, underlining the government's support to their welfare.

In conclusion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar reassured the public that the state government is committed to further enhancing the services of the TSRTC, with a focus on both modernization through electric buses and welfare schemes for the people.
