Hyderabad Commissioner Investigates Complaints on Turkayanjal Lake Waterlogging

Hyderabad Commissioner Ranganath visited Turkayanjal Lake to address recent complaints filed with Hyderabad Praja Vani. Local residents had raised concerns about agricultural lands and houses being flooded due to the closure of the lake's sluice gates, which led to water accumulation. During his visit, the Commissioner assessed the situation on-site and stated that discussions would be held with irrigation engineers and revenue officials. He also mentioned plans to collaborate with engineering experts from IIT, BITS Pilani, and JNTU to study the issue.

Ranganath assured that, using NRSC images and village maps, the Full Tank Level (FTL) of the lake would be scientifically determined within the next two to three months. He confirmed that unbiased actions would be taken. He also noted complaints about the expansion of FTL in certain lakes and the entry of sewage into Turkayanjal Lake, which residents reported as not draining properly. Ranganath pledged to investigate the details and determine the FTL of the lake through scientific methods.
