Bijapur Encounter: 12 Naxals Dead

In a major security operation in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, 12 Naxalites were killed in an encounter with police forces in the Pujari Kankeru-Maredu Baka forest area. The incident took place along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, with the ongoing encounter still unfolding.

Police officials recovered a Self Loading Rifle (SLR) and several other weapons from the scene, confirming significant firefights between the forces and Naxalite groups. Security forces have estimated that a large number of Naxalites may have been killed in the operation, though further details are still awaited as the encounter continues.

 

The police operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat Naxalite insurgency in the region. Authorities have not disclosed the exact identities of the Naxalites killed but are continuing with their mission to neutralize extremist groups in the area. The clash marks another critical moment in Chhattisgarh's efforts to combat Naxal violence along the border regions with Telangana.
