TPN , Telangana : In a significant move to reward its workforce, the Telangana government has announced a bonus of ₹796 crore for Singareni Collieries workers. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed his satisfaction in delivering this bonus, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting labor in the coal sector.
According to Bhatti, each worker will receive an average bonus of ₹1.90 lakh, which is an increase of ₹20,000 compared to last year’s distribution. This gesture underscores the government’s effort to acknowledge the hard work of the Singareni employees.
Additionally, the announcement includes provisions for contract workers, with a decision made to grant ₹5,000 each to approximately 25,000 contract employees in Singareni. Bhatti emphasized that while profits had not been shared with contract workers in the past, this year marks a significant change in policy.
In the fiscal year 2023-24, Singareni Collieries recorded impressive profits amounting to ₹4,701 crore, enabling the government to extend this bonus. Bhatti stated, “We are happy to announce the bonus for all of them,” reinforcing the administration’s focus on enhancing the welfare of workers in the state.
This announcement is expected to boost morale among workers and reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to their welfare.
