Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to check on his health following Kharge’s recent incident of discomfort during an election rally in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports indicate that Kharge experienced a brief health scare while speaking at a public event on Sunday, leading to concerns for his well-being.
During the rally, Kharge appeared to faint, prompting immediate assistance from nearby security personnel and Congress leaders, who provided him with water. After regaining his composure, he resumed his speech.
Kharge’s son, Priyank Kharge, an MLA from Chittapur, took to social media to update the public on his father’s condition. He confirmed that Kharge experienced slight discomfort and had a low blood pressure episode, but assured everyone that his father was now feeling fine. Priyank mentioned that the support and blessings from the public were strengthening Kharge’s resolve.
At 83 years old, Kharge expressed his commitment to continue his political work vigorously, stating he would remain active until Narendra Modi is ousted from power. He emphasized the need for statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, criticizing the central government’s delay in holding elections in the region. He pointed out that the elections were only being organized after directives from the Supreme Court.
