TPN , Andhra Pradesh : The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a new initiative to distribute special “Student Kits” to children studying in government and aided schools across the state. This scheme, called the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Student Mitra Scheme, will benefit around 35 lakh students enrolled in various educational institutions.
The state government has allocated a total budget of ₹953.71 crore for this scheme, with the Central Government contributing ₹175.03 crore and the State Government contributing ₹778.68 crore. The kit will be distributed starting from the next academic year, providing students with essential educational materials and supplies.
Contents of the Student Kit:
The kit will include:
- Textbooks and workbooks
- Notebooks and note pads
- Belts
- Shoes
- School Bags
- Dictionaries
- Three pairs of uniforms
Cost Breakdown:
- Each student kit will cost an average of ₹1,858.
- For uniforms, the government will pay ₹120 for students up to Class 8, and ₹240 for students in Classes 9 and 10 as part of the stitching cost.
This initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to support students, especially in the public and aided education sectors, by ensuring they have access to the necessary resources for their education. Authorities expect the program to greatly benefit over 35,94,774 students in the state.
