India has registered its third case of the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), causing widespread concern. The new case was confirmed in Bengaluru, where an 8-month-old infant tested positive for the HMPV virus. This follows the earlier diagnosis of two other children, one in Bengaluru and another in Ahmedabad, with the virus. The HMPV cases have sent shockwaves across the medical and public health communities.

On the same day, it was reported that stock markets are also feeling the ripple effects of the virus, with significant declines in key indices. The Sensex saw a loss of nearly 1000 points, while the Nifty slipped by 300 points, signaling investor anxiety due to the potential impact of the virus.

Health experts are closely monitoring the situation, while authorities have assured that necessary measures are being taken to contain the spread.
