TPN, Andhra Pradesh: Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy has sharply criticized former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, labeling his recent remarks on electricity charges as ironic. Parthasarathy pointed out that electricity rates were increased nine times during Jagan’s administration, questioning his stance on the issue.
The minister also highlighted that the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) proposal on “true-up” charges is a consequence of the previous government’s policies. He claimed that due to Jagan’s alleged poor decision-making, the state incurred a burden of Rs. 6,072 crores in true-up charges. Parthasarathy argued that this financial strain is a direct result of what he described as Jagan’s “ill-advised decisions.”
These remarks add to the ongoing criticisms surrounding Jagan’s tenure, particularly in relation to economic impacts on the state’s utilities and financial structure.
