TPN , Hyderabad – BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has publicly addressed Anumula Tirupathi Reddy, brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, condemning the ongoing demolitions of residential structures in Hyderabad. In a series of tweets, KTR expressed outrage over the plight of common citizens whose homes are being demolished without proper notice or opportunity to salvage their belongings.
KTR highlighted the cases of individuals like Vedashree, an LKG student, whose home was demolished without allowing her time to retrieve her books, and 50-year-old Kasturibai, who lost her shoe shop in the process. He noted that even recently purchased properties were not spared, with a house bought just 72 hours prior being razed to the ground.
In his remarks, KTR questioned the lack of scrutiny applied to Tirupathi Reddy during these demolitions, stating, “Perhaps you are the only one who is not even soiled in the ongoing demolitions.” He criticized the authorities for failing to apply the same standards to Reddy’s properties, which he claimed were afforded exemptions despite clear violations.
KTR also pointed out that while the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is swift in demolishing illegal structures, it seems to hesitate when it comes to Reddy’s case. “You have been given 30 days and have obtained a stay in court, but that doesn’t seem to apply to the common people being crushed under your brother’s bulldozers,” he stated.
KTR’s comments reflect growing discontent among citizens regarding the demolitions and the perceived inequality in how regulations are enforced. His remarks are likely to intensify the political discourse surrounding property rights and governance in the state.
