TPN , New Delhi – BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut has issued an apology following backlash over her recent comments advocating for the reinstatement of agricultural laws. Her statements, suggesting that farmers should appeal to the central government for the return of these laws, sparked widespread criticism from farmers and various intellectual circles.
In response to the controversy, the BJP clarified that the party had no connection to Kangana’s remarks. Senior BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia emphasized that Kangana does not have the authority to speak on behalf of the party. Amid mounting pressure, Kangana acknowledged the impact of her words, stating in a video message that her comments were personal and not reflective of the party’s stance.
Kangana expressed her regret for any hurt caused by her remarks, reminding her audience that, as both an actress and a BJP member, she holds the responsibility to adhere to the party’s principles. In her apology, she stated, “I am sorry if my comments hurt anyone.”
Bhatia later retweeted her video, reiterating that the party maintains a distinct position on agricultural laws and highlighting the importance of party members aligning their statements with the official party line. This incident underscores the sensitivity surrounding agricultural policies in India and the need for careful communication from public figures.
