India Dominates as Bangladesh All Out for 233 in Kanpur Test

In the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh at Kanpur, Bangladesh’s first innings ended at a modest 233 runs. The highlight for Bangladesh was captain Mominul Haque, who scored a resilient 107 not out. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled significantly, with only Najmul Hossain Shanto (31), Shakib Al Hasan (24), and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (20) making notable contributions.

On the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah was the standout performer for India, claiming 3 wickets, while Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravichandran Ashwin each took 2 wickets. After two days of rain interruptions, play resumed on the fourth day, where Bangladesh was quickly bowled out, losing their last 7 wickets for just 126 runs.

As India began their first innings, they displayed aggressive batting reminiscent of ODIs. Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal raced to 50 runs within just three overs, contributing to a quick partnership of 55 runs off just 23 balls. Although Rohit (23) fell to a dismissal, Jaiswal continued to dominate, scoring a rapid half-century off just 31 balls, featuring 10 fours and a six.

By the end of the ninth over, India stood at 90 runs for the loss of 1 wicket, with Jaiswal and Shubman Gill (10) at the crease. India’s strong start puts them in a commanding position as they look to extend their lead over the visitors.
