TPN , Hyderabad :The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has extended its thunderstorm forecast for an additional two days. Several districts across Telangana are expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and other weather disturbances until Friday.
In light of these conditions, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for the region. Hyderabad is forecasted to have cloudy skies until September 28, with light to moderate rains or thundershowers anticipated today. Over the next three days, further light rains or thunderstorms are expected.
During the current southwest monsoon, Telangana has recorded an average rainfall of 948.2 mm, exceeding the normal of 717.3 mm by 32%. Specifically, Hyderabad has received 820.7 mm, compared to the normal of 589.5 mm, resulting in a 39% increase.
Recently, the highest rainfall in the state was reported in Nalgonda district, which received 129.8 mm. In Hyderabad, Musheerabad recorded the highest rainfall of 47.3 mm. With the forecast predicting continued rains, the total rainfall for this southwest monsoon is likely to increase further.
