TPN , Vijayawada – On Tuesday morning, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan visited the Sri Durgamalleswara Swamivarla Devasthanam on Indrakiladri and participated in special pujas dedicated to Goddess Kanakadurga.
Upon his arrival, Pawan Kalyan was welcomed by Principal Secretary S. Satyanarayana and Temple Executive Officer K.S. Rama Rao. As part of the rituals, local devotees, known as Tolutha Ammavari, performed a cleansing puja on the temple steps, highlighting community involvement in the sacred practices.
The temple’s Vedic scholars supported the rituals with Poorna Kumbham and Veda Mantras, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the visit. After his prayers, Pawan Kalyan received Seshavastra and prasadam from the temple authorities.
In his address to the media, Pawan Kalyan discussed the ongoing concerns surrounding the integrity of temple practices, particularly following the recent controversy regarding the purity of the sacred Srivari Laddu. He criticized the YCP leadership for their handling of religious matters and called for accountability within the temple board.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized the importance of protecting Hindu sentiments and customs, stating, “Secularism should be two-way. Just as we respect other religions, we must ensure that the sentiments of Hindus are also honored.”
He urged fellow Hindus to unite in the face of any disruption to Sanatana Dharma, asserting the collective responsibility to uphold and transmit their traditions to future generations.
The Deputy Chief Minister also took a firm stance against disparaging remarks about Hindu practices, criticizing public figures who make light of sacred issues. He called for sensitivity in discussions related to religious orthodoxy and urged the film industry to avoid making jokes about serious topics that resonate deeply with devotees.
Pawan Kalyan concluded his address by reiterating his commitment to safeguarding Sanatana Dharma and expressing readiness to fight for its protection.
The event was attended by notable leaders including MPs Keshineni Shivanadh, Balashauri Garlu, and MLC Hari Prasad, highlighting the significant political support for the Deputy Chief Minister’s stance on these pressing issues.
