TPN , Hyderabad : The Hyderabad City Civil Court took significant action on Friday in a defamation case filed by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) against Minister Konda Surekha. The court issued an interim order instructing Surekha to refrain from making further derogatory comments about KTR, which he alleged were obscene and defamatory.
KTR’s petition highlighted that Konda Surekha had made objectionable remarks, prompting him to seek legal recourse. The court agreed with KTR’s concerns, emphasizing that such comments could have a detrimental impact on society. As a result, the court ordered the immediate removal of videos and other content related to Surekha’s statements from all social media platforms, websites, and media outlets.
In its ruling, the court also directed media organizations that had broadcast or published Surekha’s comments to delete the offending material. The court’s decision reflects a commitment to upholding the dignity of individuals and preventing the spread of harmful rhetoric.
This legal battle highlights the ongoing tensions within Telangana’s political landscape, where public figures are often at odds with one another. The case has drawn considerable attention, as it underscores the importance of responsible discourse among politicians.
The court has adjourned the case, with further hearings scheduled for October 27. KTR’s pursuit of justice in this matter signals a broader push against defamatory remarks in the political arena, reinforcing the need for accountability among public officials.
